life

I cant get over how RELAXED my life is now...I'm doing things very differently. Trying to be more "primal" would be the term if anyone has read the Primal Blueprint. Its basically about eating as the human race did as a hunter/gather, but it also goes further and explores other traits like sleep, play, exercise, that kind of thing. And while I still have more sugar in my diet than I should...I am learning to balance that better, and am way more aware of what agrees with me and what doesn't. Chocolate and cheese are still in my circle:) For exercise, a lot more walking, or wind sprints instead of long distance running and my back and hips definitely like that better. And its nice to be listening to my body--if it hurts, I walk. If I'm energized, I run, do sprints, climb on rocks, whatever.( The dog looks at me funny when I drag him over the rocks.) I feel awesome doing this. Mentally I'm still being very challenged with my reading both for class and beyond...a couple challenging books if anyones interested would be 'Holy Cows and Hog Heaven' by Joel Salatin and 'The One Straw Revolution' by Masanobu Fukuoka. Makes you look at how we eat and what we spend our food money on a little differently, and the second book reminds me a bit of Zen and M.M. in the different way of looking at life. On the home front, I have brought in all my carrot harvest, the tomatoes are ripening at a frightening rate in my garage and I should have an aquaponics unit set up in my living room in the next couple weeks. That's fun!!!

  1. Happy for you but still missing you in class. Hoping that one dark morning you will show your face and practice with me.

  2. All your gardening adventures sound wonderful, something to aspire to for me. Dragon dance isn't the same without you, you should see what we're doing, it would be fun if you came and watched one of our practices, you could laugh at Sifu Wetter and I trying to head stack with the dragon! Glad your doing well!
